Tour of California

Lucy likes international cycling... she took mom and dad to the Tour of California time trials last weekend. Fabian Cancellara took the win over local favorite Levi Leipheimer.

Meeting Grandparents

Lucy got to meet two of her grandparents this weekend. They've been showering Lucy with lots of love ever since they arrived.

Lucy's first hike

Uncle Scott and Auntie Jen entered Lucy in her first orienteering meet at a local park today. We're pretty sure she was the youngest entrant!

With map and compass in hand, we hiked around the park to find 12 hidden checkpoints. Lucy enjoyed her first adventure in a Baby Bjorn (in fact, she slept through most of it), and mom and dad enjoyed the fresh air and exercise.

Wednesday Adventures

Day 4 for Lucy started off with a nice long nap in the morning, followed by our first doctor's appointment. Lucy is in perfect health and has started to regain weight. She's now 7 lbs and 10 ounces.

Today is election day in California... and Lucy didn't want to miss out on the fun. We wrapped Lucy up in a swaddle and walked down the street to the voting station. She won't tell us who she voted for, but we suspect she's a liberal.

Bringing Lucy home

We checked out of the hospital last night and brought Lucy home for the first time. She actually seemed to enjoy her car seat!

Welcome Lucy Marie!

Lucy made her grand entrance at 4:30am this morning. She's magnificent! Lucy was 8 pounds zero ounces and 21 inches long. Shelley and Lucy are both doing well.

February Baby

Today is February 1st, so it looks like we'll be having a February baby!

Donkeys are good luck

We took a walk in Barron Park and checked out the donkeys. Allegedly this is the donkey that inspired the character in the Pixar movie Shrek. The donkey really liked Shelley and licked her belly for good luck.

Dogsitting Kona

Shell and I got to take care of our friends' puppy for a week. Kona is a 13 week old Golden Retriever and was fun to have around the house.
